Using AliExpress from Taiwan involves the normal marketplace choices plus a country-specific customs confirmation step. Before paying, check that the exact variation can be delivered to Taiwan, compare seller history, price and shipping, review return terms, and keep the final order details ready for the later EZ Way check. The March 2026 advance-authorization process matters, but it supports the order journey rather than replacing it.

Check the EZ Way notification before you approve anything
Taipei Customs says the advance-authorization system has applied comprehensively since 1 March 2026. Importers must review shipment details such as the house airway bill number, goods description and declared value in EZ Way and confirm that they match the purchase before clearance proceeds. Taipei Customs' advance-authorization guidance explains the process.
If the notification does not match the product you bought, use the mismatch option and contact the broker rather than confirming it blindly. Keep the AliExpress order and payment record available so the declared information can be compared with the real transaction.
Declared value also determines the express category
Taiwan Customs currently classifies import express consignments as X2 when the duty-paid value is up to TWD 2,000, X3 from TWD 2,001 to 50,000 and X4 above TWD 50,000. See the current Taiwan Customs express-category table.
Do not ask a seller to understate the value to keep a parcel in a lower category. The declared value should match the purchase you can prove with the order and payment record.

Identity details need to match the real consignee
EZ Way real-name authentication links the consignee's identity to a mobile number. Use your actual recipient details and a phone number you control so the customs notification reaches the person who can verify the shipment. Taiwan Customs' EZ Way operating guidance explains the identity flow.
If your AliExpress shipping details need correcting before you order, the steps for correcting an AliExpress delivery address can help you correct the saved details. Fix the account first rather than waiting for an identity or delivery mismatch after dispatch.
Restricted or specially controlled goods deserve a separate check
Taiwan Customs notes that some express goods subject to specific import regulations cannot use simplified declarations. If a product may need an approval, inspection or other special condition, check that before buying; a low price does not make the clearance requirement disappear.

Use sale timing only after the import checks
First confirm that the product can follow a normal import path, then check the exact variation, seller history, recent reviews, declared-value implications, shipping method and return terms. For a non-urgent purchase, upcoming AliExpress sale dates can help you compare promotion timing; after payment, keep the final order record so the goods description and value can be checked against the later EZ Way notification.

If the marketplace shopping flow is unfamiliar, review the standard buying steps before adding Taiwan's extra customs step. Do not treat EZ Way confirmation as a routine tap—verify the identity, goods description and declared value before you approve the import.
