In order to quickly deliver goods around the world, AliExpress has opened warehouses in different countries. There are 5 large overseas logistics hubs and 9 hubs in China itself. More than 50 warehouses in the PRC. They also serve Taobao and other sites owned by the Alibaba Group.

AliExpress‘ warehouses are operated by Cainiao. The goal of the entire system is to ensure delivery of goods within 24 hours to the PRC and within 72 hours to anywhere in the world. AliExpress also rents warehouses in almost all countries. In some countries, warehouses can be rented by sellers who offer their goods on AliExpress.

Cainiao Main Sorting Center in Hangzhou

This is the main warehouse not only for AliExpress, but for the entire Alibaba Group. Every day, up to 5 million orders pass through its sorting center. Most of the operations are performed by robots. It also handles goods arriving in China from sellers from other countries.
Aliexpress Logistics Hub in Hong Kong

In 2018, Cainiao Network took the lead in a $1.5 billion investment in a Hong Kong warehouse. China National Aviation Corp. also took part in the project. (Group) Ltd. and YTO Express.
By 2023, they intend to complete the construction and equipment of a warehouse with a total area of 380,000 square meters.
In addition to this warehouse under construction, Cainiao already has three operating warehouses in Hong Kong. Here goods are collected and sorted, which are later sent to Liege and Moscow, to other logistics hubs and warehouses of Aliexpress.

Cainiao Network is building Smart-Logistics Hub in Liege, Belgium. A warehouse with an area of 33,000 square meters will appear on the territory of Liège Airport, before the end of 2021. It is planned to build a total of 220,000 sq.m. warehouse space.
Already, the hub receives about 18 cargo flights every week. And dispatches over 60 trucks daily. The hub has a branch line to Henan and Yiwu, Zhejiang in China.
Almost all parcels delivered from China to the EU are processed here. And their customs clearance takes place, VAT is paid.

Cainiao, the logistics arm of the Alibaba Group, opened a warehouse in Lodz for AliExpress on October 12, 2021.
This is not just a warehouse, but a fulfillment center. Here the parcels are sorted, assembled, combined. Orders from Polish buyers will be completed and delivered within three days. The total area is over 10,650 square meters. In the future, the area will increase to 61,000 square meters.
The AliExpress warehouse in Łódź will also serve customers from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The opening is timed to coincide with the 11.11 sale at AliExpress 2021.
Other AliExpress Warehouses in the European Union
By the start of the 11.11 sale in 2021, Alibaba Group announced the opening of several new warehouses and fulfilment centers in the EU. New facilities should appear in Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

Opened September 2, 2021. The warehouse will store and process goods from local sellers. The goal is to ensure that the goods are delivered the next day after ordering.
Other Aliexpress warehouses in Russia
In the near future, in 2021, it is planned to open three more order processing centers. New warehouses will appear in Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don and Kazan with a total area of at least 200 thousand square meters. Freight planes from China are already flying direct flights to these cities. Now Aliexpress is also going to sort the parcels on its own.
Was there a fire at the Aliexpress warehouse in Moscow
No, it was not. A warehouse in Zhukovsky was on fire. It is possible that parcels from China were stored there. But the warehouse itself did not belong to AliExpress or any other division of Alibaba Group.

In 2020, Alibaba Group entered into an agreement with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd to create the Cainiao Aeropolis eWTP Hub. Previously, this hub was called KLIA Aeropolis DFTZ Park. The project is a continuation of the collaboration between the Malaysian government and the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP).
The Aliexpress warehouse in Kuala Lumpur is the premier fulfillment center in Southeast Asia. Located on the territory of Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s (KLIA). Difference between own and rented warehouses
Aliexpress’s own warehouses are large fulfillment centers. Not only are goods stored there. They are processed in our own warehouses – packaging, sorting, preparation for shipment. Maintains a constant number of items that are frequently sold.

How does the AliExpress warehouse work?
The Chinese internet platform does not sell its products. She only serves numerous sellers. That is, the goods that are in the AliExpress warehouse do not belong to either AliExpress itself, Tmall or Lowcoster. They are only stored there, sorted, packed and shipped.
The seller can deliver the goods to the AliExpress warehouse even before they are sold. This service is called fulfillment.
As soon as you make a purchase, the seller instructs the delivery of Aliexpress to send the goods to the address you provided. The warehouse staff will collect the order, pack it and hand it over to the carrier.
Customs clearance of goods can take place directly at the warehouses. To further speed up the delivery process.
Is it possible to pick up the goods from the AliExpress warehouse yourself?
