Check delivery before comparing deals
Set Singapore as the destination, enter your actual address and select the exact product variation. Check whether that seller ships to it, the delivery estimate and shipping charge displayed, and what tracking is offered. Availability for one listing does not establish availability for every seller or postcode.
Compare recent seller reviews, measurements, specifications and photographs. Verify safety or brand claims independently; AliExpress is a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers, not a blanket guarantee of a listing's authenticity or safety.
Work out GST and import costs
Singapore's low-value-goods GST rules distinguish tax collected when qualifying goods are purchased from tax collected on import. For qualifying goods valued at S$400 or less and imported by air or post, a GST-registered overseas seller or marketplace can charge GST at purchase. For purchases from a non-GST-registered overseas supplier, import GST may instead be due when the consignment's CIF value (goods, insurance and freight) exceeds S$400. Goods type, value and import route matter; the applicable rules are explained by IRAS.
Save the checkout summary and invoice, and compare any later GST request with the shipment documents. Postal and courier providers can charge their own clearance, handling or tax-advance fees, separate from GST or duty. Singapore Customs describes these route-dependent procedures and fees.
If you are buying a controlled product, check whether the item needs an approval or import permit before paying. An online listing does not override Singapore import restrictions.

Track the parcel, not a generic delivery timetable
After dispatch, use the number shown in your AliExpress order to track your parcel. A tracking event may precede the local delivery handoff and does not prove which courier will complete the delivery.
For consignments actually handled through SingPost's postal system, a parcel can be held for GST, duty, documentation or import-control issues. SingPost explains postal customs clearance, but it is not necessarily the carrier for any specific AliExpress shipment.

Check payment, promotions and product risk
Use the currency and payment options actually offered in your checkout. Singapore uses the Singapore dollar, but that does not verify a particular AliExpress settlement currency or accepted card or wallet. Check the final amount and any issuer conversion charge before confirming.
